Senior Research Associate

Dr Shiju Joseph is a research associate at the University of Cambridge. He is interested in developing novel low-carbon and low-cost cementitious binders and characterization of cementitious materials. He has a background in civil engineering and received his PhD from KU Leuven, Belgium. He has experience in microstructural modelling and different experimental techniques such as XRD, NMR, SEM etc.

André is interested in energy and material flow and stock analysis for bulk materials. He aims to assess in-use material stocks, service delivery, and the relation between material stocks and well-being. André has developed a material flow analysis for steel in the UK, accounting for steel embedded in final products purchased in the UK, and prioritising the main opportunities for material and energy efficiency.
